Therese Connors Ebarb has been an attorney since 1994 and has practiced in various areas of the law, including but not limited to litigation, real estate, tax, and medical malpractice defense. She addresses many issues that seniors face, concentrating in asset protection planning, Medicaid planning and applications, estate planning, health care facility representation and guardianships.

In addition to her Juris Doctorate, Ms. received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English at Siena College, Masters Degree from Stony Brook University, as well as two Masters of Law from New York University, Legal Scholarship and Tax Law.

She currently serves on the Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation (LIAF) Speaker’s Bureau where she educates LIAF members and the community regarding the constantly changing Medicaid Laws and other Elder Law issues.
She is certified by NITA (National Institute of Trial Advocates) and NAELA (National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys).
She is a member of the NYS Bar Association sections for Tax Law, Health Law, Elder Law and Trust and Estates and serves on the Bar Association's committees on Mass Disaster Response and Lawyers in Transition. She is also a member of the American Bar Association sections for Real Estate Property, Trust and Estates and Health Law and a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, serving on its committees on Surrogate Courts, Elder Law, Tax Law, Health Law and Neuroscience and the Law.
Ms. Ebarb is a Board member of Islip Breast Cancer Coalition an organization dedicated to supplying food, clothing and personal items to the those suffering and recovering from breast cancer.

Therese graduated cum laude from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center.She continued her studies at New York University Law for ten (10) years and acquired two advanced degrees in Legal scholarship (LLM) and Tax (LLM in Taxation). Therese has represented a public Guardian since opening her own private practice. Therese has been trained in mediation and often uses these skills in accomplishing goals. Therese currently serves as a Part 36 appointee as Court Evaluator, Counsel for Alleged Incapacitated Persons and Supplemental Needs Trustee, as well as Court appointed Guardian ad Litem in Suffolk, Nassau, Kings, New York and Queens County and all New York Surrogate’s Court proceedings. She served as co-chair of the Suffolk County Elder Law Committee and has lectured on trusts, estates and elder law topics for the Suffolk County Bar Association’s Elder Law Committee and various community groups.
Executive Administrator Maryellen Viola is an Executive Assistant/Paralegal at The Law Offices of Therese Connors Ebarb, primarily assisting Ms. Ebarb in the day to day operations of the firm. Maryellen’s extensive knowledge enabled her to join Ms. Ebarb’s practice in 2017. All of her credentials, her quick adaptability to acquisition ofnew skills, and her eagerness to learn more ways to help the firm have been an extraordinary addition to the firm.
